To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas*, you must:
- be 65 years or older;
- be disabled;
- be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by
personal appearance; or
- be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

Applications for a ballot by mail must be submitted to the early voting clerk on or after
January 1 of the year of the election(s) for which you are applying and no later than the close of business on the 11th day before Election Day.
If you are voting early by mail and the early voting period has already begun, you must send your application by:
- regular mail;
- common or contract carrier;
- FAX* (936-788-8340); or
- email* (email@example.com
*IMPORTANT: For a faxed or emailed application to be effective, it must also be submitted by mail and be received by the Early Voting Clerk not later than the fourth business day after the fax or email is received.
If the early voting period has not yet begun, you may submit your application by one of the above methods or in person. If the application is submitted in person, it must be delivered by the applicant. Another person may not deliver your application for you.
